Your pursuit of excellence begins here…

The art of evolving, changing, and becoming better is more than just hard work. It is a system that can be learned, mastered and utilized by anyone looking to grow.

What is continuous improvement?

Call it a mindset, a philosophy, or even a set of values, continuous improvement is the drive to
get a little better every day. It’s the fire inside pushing you to be better in everything you do. A
better person, a better employee, a better teammate, or a better member of your community.
Most of us have the desire to be better, but the challenge lies in knowing HOW to become
better. Maybe you want to improve your performance at work and get that raise, but you’re
not sure how. Or maybe you want your team to perform better, but you aren’t sure what is
holding them back or how to help.

At Continuous Improvement University (CIU) we’ve developed a system that outlines the HOW
for you. Built from the roots of the scientific method, and supplemented with philosophies of
Lean and Six Sigma, we’ll show you a step by step approach implementing continuous
improvement in your life.

Who are these courses for?

These courses and certifications are for anyone interested in improving their performance at
work and developing themselves as an individual. The courses are also designed for leaders
who want to make continuous improvement part of their team culture. One of the reasons we
created this program was to give more people access to this great knowledge without having
to pay an arm and a leg for expensive classes and certifications. That’s why all the content is
freely shared with anyone who wants it. We also encourage you to share the articles and
videos with others and use them in your own teaching and training classes. The more people
we can help with this knowledge, the better.

These courses are not just for anyone, however. If you are not self-motivated and driven to
learn, then you can just stop reading now. If you are ready to do the work it takes to put what
you learn into to practice, then let’s get started!

What must I do to earn the Standard CI Certification?

The process to earn your Standard CI Certification is simple.

  1. Read the assigned articles and watch the videos. You can do this on your own time and
    at your own pace.
  2. Complete four experiential learning projects and submit them online. These projects will
help you learn by actually applying it in the real world.
  3. Pay your certification fee. Once you (or your company) pay the fee, our certification
committee will review your project submissions and if adequate send you your
    certification.

It’s that simple.

What is our teaching philosophy?

At CIU, we feel strongly that people learn the best through a variety of learning methods with
a heavy emphasis on “learning by doing”. You won’t find a lot of long articles or never-ending
lecture videos in these courses. Course materials are designed to be brief, quick, and easy to
consume on a variety of learning devices. True learning happens when you put the principles
of continuous improvement into practice, and that is why the experiential learning projects
are the most important element of these courses. You also won’t find any tests or exams as
part of the certifications. That’s one of the things that sets us apart from other certifications
on the market. You can trust that anyone who has achieved this certification has actual
experience making improvements in real life settings and isn’t just good at memorizing lists
and passing tests.
